To Be With You (The Sunset Series Book 1)

No matter how hard she’s tried, Nicole Pierce has always picked the wrong guy. She dumps them as soon as they reveal themselves as the cheaters and abusers they are, but it’s left her heartsore and discouraged. When she needs a date for a social function, from now on she’s going to pick one from the gorgeous, hands-off, strictly-business escorts of Club Blue.

Her childhood best friend Sean Rollins won’t stand for that. He and Nicole haven’t seen each other for years, but he’s the safe

OMG. I suffered through this book. I was fine with the first half of the book. But by then there was no growth from either of the characters. She was the worst clearly broken and as far as i can see, she never really recovered from her trauma. Her character was childish and was 26 but still trapped as a 13 year old. There is no way anyone could love this broken person for 13 years. She did not love herself and continued to be a victim by self torture.
    SPOILER!!!!!!
( she deliberately dated the worst men she could find as penance even when she knew she had a great guy in love with her patiently waiting for her to give him a chance)
I felt pity for the guy because he could have moved on but chose not to do so and waste his time waiting on her. I could not wait for this book to end because the unrealistic story line just annoyed the crap out of me. REALLY, Trust me on this one don’t waste your time.

I really enjoyed this book! It was easy to connect and bond with the characters, which left me rooting for their success. I love an engaging read where you go on a journey with your characters; and that is exactly the kind of story Melon wrote here.
Nicole has her secrets she’s holding onto, and it seems every man she dates causes her to push them deeper down inside. That is, until a childhood friend enters her life and turns things upside down. Nicole doesn’t recognize him, which allows Sean a unique chance to help his friend and show her what it means to love.
Melon weaves a message about love, redemption, and hope. It was definitely worth my time. I had to buy the second one!

This was a sweet story. I don’t mean to say there weren’t any darker elements (abuse) but i enjoyed how the author brought the story out. Two shy people, one with serious self-confidence issues and the other one never having dealt much with people of the opposite sex but in love with the other character since childhood. This was a story about relationship insecurities. Sometimes i wanted to slap the heroine because she was a little confused but i could see why she had acted the way she did; it was just that sometimes i couldn’t connect with those feelings. Mayhap because i’ve never experienced what she did. I enjoyed the hero because he was a bit goofy and had his own insecurities. I love me some alpha males but sometimes a man who’s strong but still kinda weird does it for me.I loved their IM’ing; seemed realand i had a good laugh. My only real heartache was with the ending. I need some closure and this didn’t give it to me. Will there be a sequel? I don’t know but it wasn’t finished for me and since i spent half a day reading about these insecure, mostly likeable people, i wanted to see them do more than say “let’s see how this goes”. I was a bit disapponted, however, will read this author again.
