This is going to be one of those reviews where some people are going to find it helpful but others are going to find it ambiguous, but here goes…

I’ve bought all the Druid series and started the Mer book Ember, however I cannot say I’m a fan, and I’m struggling to get into Ember – a little too much of the same after reading my way through the Druids.

    What I didn’t like:

I would not have continued reading about one third of the way into the first book if it hadn’t been free and a three set primarily because I didn’t like the main character – she just irked me from the beginning, can’t quite put my finger on why, but the main character being likable either saves or kills a story, and in this one it was close to killing it for me.

I also did not like the way the males were to the women and vice versa. Magic sex does not make abusive relationships love matches and I hate it when the women are so permissive and forgiving of appalling behavior from their men so I hated the tone of the relationships – and as it’s the relationships that draw me into the stories, this almost had me hitting the delete button.

I also hate that every female in the story is sluttish. I’m sorry but it just irks me how women seem consistently portrayed as victims or whores in a genre aimed primarily at women. Even the Amazonian females in these books (Lucia and Sania or whatever her name is) are victims and whores which just really annoys me, but any way…

It is a dark series. Nearly every sex scene is violent or rape or dub con and it does warn of this.

    What I liked:

The books vastly improved when they switched from first person.

There are moment in the series (not the first book) of sheer brilliant writing which almost redeems the whole for me and kept me reading on. This author is seriously talented, and gets better as the series evolves. There are descriptions and details that are just absolutely captivating. Five stars for the writing in the later books and for the editing which is top notch.

The sex scenes were different than the run of the mill. I can’t say they got my engines running, I’m not a fan of the each one just get bigger theme, but they were well done.

In summary: if you’re not after romance, just erotic content and want something different and well written, I’d recommend it. If you like romance, these are not for you. I am giving the first three three stars because the first brought the whole box set down, but from 4 onwards, I would rate 4-5 even though they’re not to my personal taste, so I recommend reading the whole lot and not let the first turn you off.

I was lucky enough to find this series when I was looking for free reads and I got Reapers it drew me in and never let me go, and I just had to see how it ended forcing me to immediately go and purchase the remaining books and after completing them the characters had me hooked and hoping for more. So I went on to search the author and found her website promising to continue the series and give us a full length novella I can hardly wait!!!! However it is very graphic and people need to slow down and read the info given about these books its an E R O T I C A for a reason which is plainly mentioned at numerous occasion before and after purchase it just annoys me seeing peoples comments talking bad because of the inability to pay attention pre-read all about the book before purchase you weren’t misled.

I tried hard to like this book but I just couldn’t. I understand that it is suppose to be a dark, erotic thriller but the book lost me at the thriller and erotic part but it has its dark aspects, it contains a lot of sex scenes, rapes, almost rapes, and sexual abuse, but I didn’t find them erotic at all. I have read books that were far more graphic than this that I have enjoyed but this book bored me. It was redundant. It just throws in sex and rape scenes without much of a story. I found myself skipping several pages and starting in the middle five pages later and still able to grasp the storyline without having read the previous pages. It was just that redundant. The female were too stupid to live and the heroes were pitiful saviors. You call yourself a vampire but a mere human manages to sneak up on you, REALLY!!! And I agree with some of the other reviewers, since when has rape become romantic, disgusting. I brought this series because I was looking for an erotic story and it didn’t cost anything. I still want a refund for my time.

The title of this nouvella says it all….more than a fling. Danni finds herself recently dumped by her boyfriend. What stings the most – the boyfriend left her for a man. Danni’s friends – Kari and Lyndsey – want to make sure she is not feeling sorry for herself. So – after coaxing and a mini-makeover – the ladies hit a local bar to have some fun.
While her friends are dancing – Danni meets Ryan. We learn Ryan has his own baggage – his wife left him for another man a year ago. What starts out as an intended one night stand for the two – ends up as something more.

A fast paced story is what I would brand this book as.
Although, ‘wham-bam-thank you ma’am” is not exactly fitting considering the title, it describes it’s readability to a ‘T’.

It was over too quick in my opinion. But I can’t really complain about something I got for nothing, now can I?

I would recommend this read, It was written very well.

Hot and cute. I liked how the story gave background to the characters and developed the plot. Great one night stand that turned into a romance.
