Stinging Proposal (Erotic Romance)

Sara never imagined that she would be in love again. At her age, she figured most of the good ones were already taken. That was before she met Alex. The sight of him sent shivers down her spine. But what impressed her more was his natural ability to be both strong and sensitive. Was it too good to be true? Could she have finally met the man she would actually marry?

Or would his unique proposal send her into a tailspin that she never saw coming?

This is the story of Alex and Sara. Alex wants Sara to agree to a domestic discipline marriage, so they agree to a 30 day trial. But just as the trial gets interesting this book ends, leaving the reader to purchase another book, “Stinging Proposal 2″, $2.99 for 89 pages. I think such books should have to be clearly labeled UP-FRONT as prequels and always be required to state the number of pages. (This one did give the number of pages.)

Would I recommend this book? NO
Reason for 2 stars. Primarily for the incompleteness. Secondly, although it is not told in the first person, we only get the viewpoint of Sara. The only way we know of Alex’s feelings is when he speaks to Sara. There are numerous errors that should have been caught in editing, primarily use of the wrong homonym. The story line, however, was interesting.

Stinging Proposal is the story of how Alex proposed to Sara with a request for a domestic discipline marriage to follow. The proposal with all the roses and letters was unique but so is a domestic discipline marriage. He was seeking acceptance of what he wanted and needed from his wife; Sara had to decide if this was the kind of marriage that she wanted with the man she had come to love. Yes spanking is part of the domestic discipline marriage but so is communicating at a deep level and trusting your partner more than in most marriages; it should not be entered into lightly and I think the author did a good job presenting the safe, sane and consensual aspect of the DD marriage. I would have rather found the entire story in one manuscript but installments is the current fad.

I’m still trying to figure out how the two main characters could possibly know they love each other and want to have babies together after only knowing each other a week. Moved way too quickly with no character development.

I want a book about domination and alternative sexual lifestyles that I enjoy. I thought maybe the key was a woman as the dominant. I was wrong. How the female protagonist was such a bore is beyond me. And the male in the story, just another cookie cutter male character with a ridiculously decadent life and a penis that can’t be stopped.

Ok I could only give this 3.5 stars.
Although I loved the BDSM and all the scenes I just couldn’t get over Damian being a “jerk” (insert expletive) throughout the story. He wasn’t just alpha Dom he came off as a rich guy who always got what he wanted.
Lydia is a Domme with a secret of wanted to be “topped” in the bedroom. She doesn’t label herself a “switch” but that is what she is. She likes being the Domme to both male and female subs filling their needs and some of her own, but she just can’t help loving when Damian takes control of her in the bedroom.

This is a rather quick story and the two characters fall “in love” super quickly and start talking marriage and children….after only like 66 pages.

I lliked Lydia she was real, didn’t like Damian and I would have liked the story to be a bit longer.

This is my review from goodreads.com tbh (to be honesty) I was just to lazy to write two reviews for the same book.
