Ok, I’ll start by saying that I’m not into the BDSM scene (not judging, just not into it) and this still a wonderful ROMANCE. I hope people that aren’t into BDSM will still give this book (and the series) a chance because at its heart, it’s still a (very sexy) romance.

I didn’t read the first books (but I will now) but Marrying the Master was a stand alone book that you didn’t NEED to read the others. (I’m sure it didn’t hurt if you did.)

Roman and Lola have great chemistry and their story is sweet. (It’s also believable, which is a nice thing that some romance novelists think is unnecessary.)

What to take from this review: Read this, (In fact, buy the series.) but keep an open mind and expect great sex.

I bought this book because I saw it listed for $.99 and the synopsis/description sounded good… I was NOT disappointed. I hadn’t heard about this series before I bought and read this book. I may now have to consider reading the others. This book can be read as a stand-alone (luckily for me).

Lola and Roman run a very exclusive BDSM club. When a politician threatens the club, the only way to save it is for them to get married. Not a problem for Lola, she’s loved Roman since she first met him. She also knows she’ll never actually have HIM since his heart is still pining for his late wife. Lola also happens to be the younger cousin of Roman’s best friend.

After agreeing to marry him to protect the club, Lola finds that they not only have to convince the public that they are in love but they need convince the press and their friends as well.

Lola is a switch (dom AND sub) and Roman is a dom. Lola needs to act as Roman’s sub! Lola hasn’t been a ‘successful’ sub since her ex who broke her heart and lost her trust when he cheated on her. One night with Roman changes her whole world.

    – a couple of time I wanted to reach through the book to slap one of the characters.
    – the club was just a location, there were NO BDSM scenes that one would find in that kind of club. (I’m not big into BDSM so it was good for me)
    – Roman’s emotions occasionally went from ‘dom’ to lover in the blink of an eye
    – Lola occasionally went from a strong woman to an emotional wreck in the blink of an eye

all-in-all, I still would recommend it

I love the whole series of the Club Volare books and have become an enthusiastic follower of Chloe Cox. Her stories, like this one, give a unique insight into the BDSM scene and help us to understand the motivations of some of the “subs” in each of the Club Volare books. Likewise I gained an insight into what being a dom might mean for the men involved. I didn’t even realize there could be such a thing as “dom space” as in “sub space” but I can now gain some understanding from an outsider’s point of view.

I did read her Doctor’s Exam books and did not like them at all — too short and not believable. I think they were not well developed enough… they were more like a writer’s outline suggesting a book theme. Ah well, not all books are what you think they will be altho I do regret purchasing this “set”.

Unequivocably, I fully endorse her Club Volare books as well developed, well written, engaging, fully explainable and good erotic writing. Go, buy, enjoy!!
