There are strange people living in and around this lake. And that’s the novel’s strong point–the depiction of individuals we might not care to encounter in real life. But the author has done a remarkable job of describing them. Even the major protagonists, the white woman and the Native American male she falls in love with, are complex and fascinating personalities. Readers, who are intrigued by their fellow human beings and wonder why some can be so different from the norm, will find this book truly fascinating.

What can I say? This book was so much fun to read! I loved the fact that it was simply written and so easy to become engrossed in. The characters were real, flaws included. Oftentimes, the characters can be so busy that I get tired of reading about them. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone:)
