This is a hard one, I have read books so much better and a lot worse than this one, but I kept reading thinking it would get better. The whole story of the BDSM club left me cold and really not liking the characters. Amy wasn’t a really easy person to like either, she did enter under false pretenses then got mad and upset when she was ejected, then returned over and over. Master J was cold/unfeeling/rude but did show patience with Amy. You could tell he cared by the way he controlled her but at the same time he was so cold and unfeeling towards her. Parts of the happenings within the Club were rough, and although I am sure anything goes in some clubs, I don’t know if these were appropriate for this book, if someone was new to reading about BDSM this book would certainly scare them away.

.99 was a good price, I would not have paid any more for it. I may read book 2 just to see where it goes, but I am not impressed with the series so
far. The book didn’t give any leads to book two so its hard to say where it will go from here.

I read this story in the Shades of Control Boxed Set and was convinced by the author’s last page to write a review. I have read much better and I have read much worse. In this offering, I was disappointed in the lack of romance in Master J’s words. His actions did speak louder than his words but I am one who needs to hear some or the words. The premise was excellent. It could have gone in a few better directions. Like Amy, I was turned off by the penis insertions. It seemed like a superfluous part of the story because it was not addressed by Master J. Was it acceptable or not in his club? I would also like a hint about the next Masters book. I bought another book from this author to get a better idea of her writing. I would consider getting the next book if not expensive to see if it is a better offering demonstrating romance in an unemotional setting.

In “Control” we meet Amy Cryan, a journalist who sneaks into a BDSM club looking for a hot scoop on the activities going on inside, however, when she finds herself in over her head. In order to get herself out of the hot water she finds herself in she’s given only one option – submit to the owner of the club for a week.

Well written, awesome characters, interesting plot. was on the edge of my seat the whole time, wondering what was going to happen. From my understanding this is a series, however the book ends properly without a cliffhanger.
