Oh my dear God in Heaven what is this I just read? Wow, this was bad. Let’s be honest it’s a freebie but I gave up around 40% in. Knowing nothing about this “New York Times, USA Today Best Selling Author” I didn’t look at her mini bio, firstly, this book was hysterically funny but it wasn’t a comedy. I’m assuming Pamela Ann is just using her first and middle names and she’s a smart cookie…I can’t imagine anyone really wanting their name on this book. I have never read so many adjectives in my life, oh and the Drama. This book was so OTT that I read parts out loud to amuse myself. The dialog!!! The dialog! Who talks like these people? Well obviously “poppet” does. This book was like reading a 16 year old’s diary. I began wondering around 50 pages in who this author was. Before reading her mini bio I was torn between an American who was an Anglophile and wanted to appear as a Brit or a teenager from the UK. My first guess was correct. This book was bad, really, unbelievably bad…I would use 4 adjectives (like the author did) to describe how bad this book was , but then I’d be melodramatic like our H/H/ h were. Blake’s abs were described so many times I think I could pick them out in a police line up. Thank God when my ambien kicked in and put me asleep and out of my misery. Once again, I can’t even remember the heroine’s name. Just so we’re clear, this book was horrifically bad, time is precious, don’t waste it on this.

Although the story line was good, this book desperately needs an editor/proofreader. In some places, the errors/omissions detracted from the story and had me scratching my head wondering who/what/where. Had this book been properly edited, I would have given it a 4. Hopefully, book 2 will be better.

Chasing Beautiful was a good read. I was looking for something a little different and it was on the ‘other people have purchased’ list. I laughed at the characters one moment, then wanted to jump into the plot and smack some sense into them the next. Overall, the plot has been done before, but there were plot twists and character backgrounds which made the plot unique and a little more believable. The characters were pretty well-developed although at times, I wondered why would you do that?

It was a quick read and left you on a cliffhanger just hankering for the next book. I will warn you there is some serious editing errors. Words were thrown into sentences or missing, and it did take away from the book a bit. I would suggest reading this book with that in mind. The editing and proof reading were obviously lacking when this went to print because most errors were glaringly obvious. If you can get past the editing, the story really was good.
