This is seriously, deliciously wonderfully good. It’s way too short but I highly recommend this gem.

Chase is about an escort, Larissa Jacobs, who has a dalliance with a wealthy and powerful married senator, Chase Underwood. But the one-night only affair leads to something much more and deeper for both of them.

PROS: Excellent storytelling, the love scenes were incredible. The characters were believable.

CONS: I was a little put off by Larissa’s high opinion of herself (she referred to herself as gorgeous and beautiful several times; I didn’t mind she thought of herself that way. I did mind she had to keep saying it as if she was trying to convince us that she was).

Solid 4-stars. I recommend this piece. You will not be disappointed!

I really didn’t get any sense of why Chase and Larissa were together. He picks her out as an escort, which she’s trying for the first time because she’s a struggling actor and needs the money. The next day, he wants her with him on the campaign trail. I understand that she’s pretty, but for a presidential candidate to take a mistress on the campaign trail with him as an assistant, there really ought to be some deep connection between them, other than hot sex. Especially since he’s married to someone else. Kinda skeevy. I find myself not really caring about what happens to them, because the press traveling along will eat them alive and it won’t be pretty. Unless this is a fantasy series set in another universe…..? Also, he’s really into control and BDSM kind of things and Larissa just giggles and happily complies. No discussion, no issues, no problems signing a contract allowing him to punish her. Definitely some paperwork the press would LOVE to get a hold of. Not ringing true enough for me to be able to even try to enjoy the story.

    Heat factor hot.

Well, as an erotica story, it works. The sex scenes are HOT and believable.

Everything tieing them together, not so much. On the other hand, high-level political candidates do this type of shenanigan in real life (example: Gary Hart – democratic candidate in 1988). I would like to think that people running for the highest office are smarter than this, but I am wrong. So I guess the author actually is writing closer to real life than I am comfortable thinking about.
