Awakening: A Dangerous Man #1

His voice is hoarse. “I am going to make love to you now.” He says, “So if you want me to stop, tell me.”

I shake my head frantically. If he stops at this point, I’ll probably die.

Sophie Bennett has virtually no experience with men. Orphaned from birth, she’s gone from living with her reclusive spinster aunt, to a sheltered education in boarding school. So nothing prepares her for David Preston. The intensely attractive business-man is entirely out of he

You want more, June 11, 2013

Is it bad that I want more?

The book was really tooooo short for my taste. I want so much more of David and his steamy and sexy personality.

Sophie. What can I say about her? She needs some changes in her life and it’s determined to see that happen. I loved her personality! It’s impulsive, emotional and I LOVE that she says what she likes. Saying what you like during sex is difficult because it’s being like “vulnerable” but Sophie has a strong personality and it’s good at getting what she wants after.

David. Even his name is sexy! The book doesn’t say that he’s millionarie but you can guess it when you read. Smoking hot millionarie. He has a strong personality also and it reallyyyyy impusilve (what a combination!)

I can’t wait for more of their history!

This is a great story but too short. Wanted to know more about David. Sophie is so young and doesn’t seem to know who David Preston really is. He has already told her he was bad for her. But the new feelings she is having towards him has her flustered. What is David thinking after their first night together? What does he have planned for Sophie? Maybe now she will be able to go to college and become an artist. This is a first for me by Serena Grey and I LOVED it. Now on to Rebellion, book 2.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

    3.5 stars
I liked this book, although I thought the events that took place in it happened way, way too fast. It is an extremely short story that could be read in under an hour and will be part of a series I assume because there was a teaser in the back. There isn’t much background; it sort of just jumps right into the story and takes off and you try to hang on for the ride and then before you know it the story is over and you’re left sitting there like “whoa..” A good whoa though. I really enjoyed Sophie’s character and the background that we did get on her has the potential to make her a really strong and interesting character. We don’t find out anything about David, who I assume is the “Dangerous Man” and I would have liked to know a little something more about him. I’m sure it will pop up in the following books, hopefully. Just from this first part it really reminded me of Cassia Leo’s Chase series. So if you enjoyed that or others like that story you’ll definitely like this book.
